NIST CSF 2.0

The NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 2.0 is voluntary guidance from the US National Institute of Standards and Technology for managing cybersecurity risk. It describes the outcomes a security program should achieve in six Functions (Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond and Recover), split into 22 Categories and 106 Subcategories, and leaves the choice of controls to each organization. Organizations of any size or sector use it to assess and explain their security posture, and US public sector buyers, critical infrastructure operators and their suppliers often ask vendors to show how they align with it.
